Tiranha Build ( Taipan X Piranha )

Tiranha Build ( Taipan X Piranha )

Postby Zak.M » Sat Dec 02, 2006 5:52 pm

I have a few photos or my first day at work building my new buggy, Phil and I like to call it " The Tiranha " it's lite, it's mean and hopefully not a killing machine.

I got the frame finished.

Now until Christmas I MIGHT look for a job to pay for the front swing arms because I cant see my self making them...

I will post more pictures of all the other parts I have another day..
Please feel free to leave me feedback.
Cheers all and have a Merry Christmas HO HO HO,
Zak

The lady said to me, even if you give a cad file it still has to be programed in the machine and would cost the same so that way was quick and easy.
More braising?
Any one know how much I should expect to pay?

I would think about $60. Most places I’ve had quotes at don’t charge a programming fee if a DXF file is supplied. Those flames are going to take a long time to draw.

I wouldn’t be too keen on them either. In the event of an accident (god forbid) you might end up with one of those pointy flames lodged halfway through your leg. That’s not going to be fun to remove either.

What Jet meant to say was the pedal needs more bracing. He was probably in a hurry to practice for the spelling bee championships and made a little typo!

Well im getting my parts cut up for free by my dads mate (laser/cnc programmer). He toled me to draw them up and save them in DXF files something about it being easier to load on to the machine. No offence or anyting zak.m But i recon that the pedals will probably snap or twist due to the lack of material, and as Gordy says one of them will probably end up in your leg. other Than that they look fine.
Hey Zac ill do you a little favour to save time and money. Ill draw up the Cad files for you and send them to your email in the DXF format. (ill see what i can do about them flames).....ummm whats your email??
Cheers

Ow by the way everyone the flames were PHILS! idea.
So Bad Dee if you could maybe draw the parts and then send them to me I can send them to Phillip and I'm sure he would know how to incorporate some flames into them. :D :D .

No need to worry about the flame ... i prety much worked them out for you.... well if your not happy with them you can always get philip to change them. They will be ready in about another hour or less... hope fully ....i also increased the thickness a bit so that they dont snap because of the flames.

Thats what it will end up looking like ill send all the parts to you when im done

I have a 396cc industrial engine with a Comet 40 series CTV.
So it will be auto, but hopefully I can build it light enough that she moves OK.

yeh i had one of them industrial engines in a home made go kart and a minichopper that i built. they seem to work fine and you have a lot of fun with them(well i did). Did you know that they can be modifyed with turbos and stuff, they look kool but i dont know about the performance though. Check out these websites:

Well its not that I don't like the design its just,
I can buy the edge ones complete ( one brack and one Acc.) and it will still work out cheaper!
Even if I did do my own then I would still have to spend another $20 on bushes ext.
But, thank you bad dee.

no problem Zack>m
i would go with the edge ones to if i were you.
After i drew those up i decided to use them on mine as well.
I cant be sure on this at all but if i happen to get any extra cut ill try to get the pedals to you. But as i said im not sure on that at all.
Untill then i recon you should go with the edge ones up then you can just change the pedals over cus the will just drop straight in. :D
